Forgotten Passwords and Email Notification

Forgotten passwords and not receiving email alerts are common problems for our clients.  Here are some tips to help ease the pain.

When a wrong user name or password is entered:

The message “The username and password you entered is not valid” appears in red text above the log on button.

The message “I forgot my password” appears in green text below the log on button.  This message is a link.  When clicked will send a temporary password via email.

There are a few things you can check if you are not receiving email alerts. Here are the most common:

1. Using the wrong User Name. If you are using the wrong user name the software would not be able to send an email.

2. The email could be getting thrown into a spam or junk folder.  You can mark hosting@guardian-tracking.com and noreply@guardian-tracking.com as a safe email addresses.

3. You don’t have an email listed in GT. This is done on the account page by the individual user or under the employee setup as an admin.

Finally, contact the email manager for your organization and request that the above addresses by marked as safe.
