Finally, there is always a chance of rope breakage. If one rope breaks, it can easily get tangled in an adjacent rope and create quite a hazard. The fact that the ropes move so quickly and have the power of the entire paper machine behind them, presents a considerable possibility for injury. You should approach an area containing carrier ropes much the same way you would approach a busy street, just as any part of a street has the potential to have a speeding car present. Any part of the path in which the ropes travel has the potential to contain a fast-moving broken rope.
