This training addresses the mental health crisis in construction, where workers face suicide rates twice that of the general population. Participants will learn to identify warning signs and risk factors specific to construction workers, understand industry-specific challenges, and develop practical skills for supporting colleagues in distress using the TASC method for crisis intervention.

The course emphasizes creating a supportive workplace culture where mental health conversations are normalized and reinforces that “It’s OK to not be OK.” Through real industry stories and practical guidance, employees will be equipped to recognize when colleagues need support, conduct caring conversations, and connect coworkers to professional resources when necessary.

Mr. Azbill holds several accredited safety certifications and licenses and attended Johnson County Community College, the University of Kansas, Thomas Edison University, and National University earning his PhD in Organizational Leadership. Mr. Azbill is a sitting member on numerous safety advisory committees and serves as the ISEA Education Committee Chair and is a Board of Trustees member Director at Large for the Construction Industry Alliance of Suicide Prevention.
