When a student experiences hypoglycemia, it can be a life-threatening emergency. Glucagon is a medication that quickly stops the symptoms of low blood sugar by releasing glucose in the blood. This course provides school faculty with an overview of the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia, how to administer glucagon as an injection or nose spray, safety protocols following the medication and the importance of reviewing the student’s IHP plan.
